ROCK - Hard Rock/Metal
Cary, Illinois

Odium was formed in the fall of 2002 by Jim Sutton and Matt Emling. Matt Hutchens joined the band along with Mark Gianforte and Jon Olson from Fat Sally to eagerly rehearse for their first show at Kristof's in Round Lake, IL on Nov. 10th 2002. Odium made their debut with their self-recorded demo from 2003 with the song Unlike You, following that they recorded Self-Portrait. Steve Johnson from Fat Sally filled in place of Matt Hutchens on bass for their latest EP titled The Hourglass, produced by former Rise Against guitarist Dan Precision at the Bombshelter Studio in Chicago, IL and Reuben Baird at the Chicago Sound Lab Recording Studio in Summit, IL. The eye-opening track This Blessed Curse features a clip from the movie Old School. This quartet from Cary, Illinois is influenced by everyone from Dream Theater, Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God to the likes of Pink Floyd, The Beatles and Umphrey’s McGee.
