Ska band, The Invaders are known for coining the phrase Brewtown Ska. Influences include the British "Two-Tone" movement, Ska legends like Desmond Dekker and Laurel Aitken and even the likes of Oingo Boingo and Fishbone. Rolling this into their own brand of fuel injected Ska. Formed in 1987 the band has since released 5 projects and appeared on over 24 compilations to date. The Invaders shared the stage with notable bands including; The Skatalites, Wailers, Specials, Selector, English Beat, No Doubt, Bad Manners, Fishbone, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, Toasters and Mustard Plug. In 1999 and again in 2000 the Band won WAMI awards for Best Ska Group. And they were voted Best Milwaukee Band by the Shepard Express Reader's Poll in 1998. The Band has toured and signed to an East Coast indi Label, Elevator Records. The Invaders continue to show they have become legendary as one of the 3rd wave of Ska's best acts.
