ROCK - PopRock/Mainstream
In 1994 Ron Purtee and Mark Sheppard (Forstella Ford, God & The Baby Jesuses) embarked on a short journey that ended in what had become The Ronalds. Started with vocals (Purtee) and guitar (Sheppard), the band had a small following, and played the now infamous, Frannie Fun Fest, until it faded away.
Cut to a few years later and the band had a chance at redemption. They entered a Battle of the Bands at Walden III High School. This time the lineup had changed to Purtee on vocals, but Andy Schonert (Shameless Place) on guitar and back-up vocals, and Matt Vollmer (Noah Lekas & The Revival) on stand up bass and back up vocals. They didnt win, but lord knows an impact was made. Ultimately, the new members everyday projects caught up with them and the Ronalds faded away into obscurity once more.
There were distant rumblings of a reunion. None came to pass. Now, taking on the helm alone, Ron Purtee has resurrected the Best Band No One Remembers. All should live in fear. No, seriously,
